The Aged Care Act 2024 protects your rights. Maison Care Services is committed to upholding every one of them.
The Aged Care Act 2024 is rights-based legislation — it puts you at the centre of the aged care system. The Act’s Statement of Rights guarantees that every person receiving aged care services has the right to:
You receive care that meets recognised standards of quality and safety at all times.
You are treated as a full person with a life story, culture, and preferences that matter.
You have the right to make your own decisions — even ones that carry some personal risk. Our role is to inform and support, not to control.
Your cultural background, traditions, language, and faith are respected in your care plan and in every interaction.
You are given clear, honest information about your options so you can make decisions that are right for you.
Your personal information is handled with care and is not shared without your consent.
You are protected from any form of physical, emotional, financial, or sexual abuse or neglect.
You can raise complaints or concerns and have them addressed without fear of consequences.
You have the right to know how your government-funded budget is being spent.
If you have a concern about your care or your services, please speak with your care partner at Maison Care Services first. We take all feedback seriously and will work to resolve any issues promptly.
